An awareness message that has resonated with me over recent months is the plant-based eating movement. Over the past two years, campaigns of this nature have populated across my social media platforms. At first, I ignored the pop-ups. But as they continued to crowd my space, I began to show interest in these resources. I was curious about the term, “whole food”. Early in my study, I thought it was nothing more than marketing propaganda. However, in looking at the definition, I saw that it actually represents a class of foods.

Because there is minimal processing of these foods, they contain the highest possible levels of vitamins and minerals. Therefore, they provide the highest amount of nutrients to the body when eaten. Scientific studies continue to affirm the positive impacts of whole foods on the body. Also, several testimonials have been documented and supported by renowned doctors to affirm the benefits of eating whole foods.

This newly found information intrigued me to the point where I started a new venture to discover the value of this movement. In doing so, I learned this category of food is at, or nearest to its natural state. The more I read about this subject, the more it influenced me. Particularly since I have minor health issues that require me to take medication from time to time. Reading articles about people who overcame certain health issues by making conscious decisions to incorporate more whole foods, and fewer processed foods, seemed like a doable transition for me. So as I read, I took notes and compared readings. In doing so, learning how to make healthier eating choices. As a result, over the past eighteen months, I’ve eliminated the need to take medication regularly and lost fifteen pounds. For these reasons, I have transitioned to an ambassador for this highly effective initiative. May you enjoy this reading experience.
